An industrial design student at Philadelphia University has developed a combat suit that protects the wearer against punches and knife swipes – just like a real-life Batsuit.

The student, Jackson Gordon, built the thing mostly with Kevlar and posted videos showing how the suit holds up against attackers. He effortlessly took punches to the gut and even taunted the guys who were wailing away on his torso.

Gordon raised the money for his Batman-themed combat suit with a Kickstarter campaign launched just last month -- and recently posted the final version of his suit on Facebook.

That’s a pretty quick turnaround to bring a piece of comic book fiction into the real world.

Unfortunately, Gordon wasn’t able to create a time machine to let us go back in time and somehow stop Ben Affleck from getting the role of the Caped Crusader.
