Iowa Man Arrested In Mexico For Assault At Hamburg Grain Bin

U.S. Marshals have arrested a Muscatine man for attempted murder in connection with an assault at a grain elevator in Hamburg, Iowa in October. 

Investigators say a warrant was issued for 37 year old Pedro Ivan Andrade after a Fremont County Sheriff’s investigation into an incident that happened October 10th in Hamburg.

Andrade is accused of pushing a co-worker from the top of a 60-foot tall industrial grain bin during a dispute, resulting in massive critical injuries to the victim. 

During the investigation, U.S Marshals were able to determine that Andrade had fled the U.S. to Mexico in the days after the assault.

According to investigators, They were able to narrow their search to a neighborhood outside of Medina, Yucatan, Mexico. 

Last Thursday morning, Mexican authorities located Andrade and took him into custody without incident. He was deported to the U.S., and booked into the Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas.

Once extradition proceedings are complete Andrade will be transported back to Fremont County, Iowa to face charges of attempted murder, willful injury and flight to avoid prosecution.
