Teenage Intruder Walks Into Kansas Home, Stands Over Sleeping Girl

Authorities in Wichita, Kansas, arrested a 14-year-old boy who is accused of breaking into a home and standing over a 15-year-old girl while she slept. Police said that the suspect, whose identity has not been released, entered the house through an unlocked door and picked up a tool.

Surveillance video recorded by the family's Ring cameras captured the teen walking through the house. At one point, he found Aniyah Robinson sleeping on the couch. Robison woke up to see the teen staring at her.

"It just scared me because of the fact that somebody was sitting over watching me that I didn't know," Robinson told KAKE-TV. "It's just scary."

She rushed to her mother's room to warn her that there was an intruder in the house. They called the police, but the suspect had fled by the time officers arrived. At the time, officials believed the suspect did not steal anything, but later realized he kept the tool that he had picked up.

"He didn't take anything, and I think that's scarier," Aniyah's mother, Angel, told the news station. "Because what did you want? I don't know what you want, are you going to come back?"

After nearly a week of searching for leads, the Wichita Police Department received a tip that led to the arrest of the suspect. He was charged with aggravated burglary and theft.
