The Los Angeles Dodgers have been accused of buying their 2024 Championship by simply outspending every other team in Major League Baseball and it’s not far from the truth. The owners are looking at a hard salary cap to address competitive balance in the league and it may get contentious with the players. Nobody wants a work stoppage but it may be inevitable.
Dan Patrick: “It’s not fun to talk about potential work stoppages or strikes because I covered them when I worked in New York. I covered, you know, NFL strikes, baseball strikes; not fun at all but sometime you need to have a reset here and I wonder if baseball and the ownership group will say, ‘We need to have, you know, a hard cap in here?’”
