Chris Broussard: “I actually like what Joe Burrow said. My thing is, if you’re an adult and you want to play, you understand what you’re getting into. It’s not just football. Boxers know the damage fighting will do to their bodies, auto racers know the risk of getting behind the wheel of a car and travelling at those high speeds. I think all of these leagues can do a better job of teaching players about the inherit risks, so as adults, they can make a better decision on if they want to play.”
Rob Parker: “You do sign up for the physical toll when you play football, but you should try to do as much as you can to lessen the blow. I know the league has made a lot of changes; some of them are wildly unpopular. But you just have way too many football players dropping dead at a young age, and the league can’t ignore that. It’s impossible to prevent every concussion, but they need to try to do everything they can to minimize the long-term effects of concussions... Joe Burrow’s not speaking out of turn, he’s just being very blunt about it.”

The Odd Couple’s Chris Broussard and Rob Parker react to Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s comments on The Colin Cowherd Podcast regarding player safety in the NFL. Burrow says there’s an inherit risk to playing football, so while the league can do what they can to minimize injuries, at the end of the day, they’re going to happen.
